WHAT IS SANTACON?
SantaCon is a yearly Santa Claus convention that spreads joy through charitable and nonsensical festivities.
WHAT IS SOUTH BRONX SANTACON?
This year marks the first South Bronx SantaCon—a SantaCon Happy Hour where Santas will bar crawl through Mott Haven during Happy Hour, spreading holiday cheer by donating new, unwrapped toys for a great cause. Bring a toy to participating venues and receive a complimentary drink as a thank-you!
CHARITY INFO
JSilva Events, Canon Strategy Group, and The Hoodspitality Group will collect toys for Rethink Food to distribute to children in NYC asylum seeking centers.
PARTICIPATING VENUES
South Bronx SantaCon kicks off at The Bronx Native Shop @ 127 Lincoln Avenue. The Official Map will be unveiled the week of the event here & @jsilvaevents Instagram Page. The Finale will be at Sankofa Haus @ 2422 Third Avenue.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
- Dress up in red (Santa hat alone is not enough). That having been said, unusual interpretations of Santa-ness are often appreciated and christmas trees, elves, reindeer themes etc. are all good!
- Address your fellow santas as "Santa."
- Bring new, unwrapped toys to donate (1 toy = 1 drink ticket).
- Bring cash and pay for refreshments as you go. Santa gets tired of waiting on other Santas to clear their tab before being able to move on.
- Make sure to always tip the good people who are serving you. We want to be able to do this again next year so be polite and cultivate the goodwill of the local community.
- Use hashtag #BXSANTACON on social media.
- Donate to SantaCon's charitable causes for entry to the Finale at Sankofa Haus.
